AFPSEM - CGEAHS HISTORY

Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo High School is situated inside Camp Aguinaldo along Col. Bonny Serrano Road. It was formally established as a school for enlisted men known as Armed Forces of the Philippines School for Enlisted Men (AFPSEM) on January 2,1946.

It was conceived as a welfare program for AFP (ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES) enlisted men to finish secondary education. Evening session was reserved for the enlisted personnel, and morning/afternoon sessions were for the dependents of the military personnel.

When AFP raised the educational qualifications for enlistment in the Regular Force, it continued to operate, manage and administer the school. Thus, the change of its name from AFPSEM to CAMP GENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO HIGH SCHOOL in 1964.

The General Headquarters of AFP, realized that the objective of providing secondary education to dependents of military personnel belongs to the Department Of Education,Culture, and Sports (DECS). It turned over the management, administration and supervision of Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo High School (CGEAHS) to the Division of City Schools, Quezon City (DCS-QC) on June 1,1976. The turnover was stipulated with terms and conditions, obligations and responsibilities between the two parties, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Department Of Education,Culture and Sports (DECS) in a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in June, 1976.
